Alexandra Pryse (@hairbyalexz) of House of Color Salon, Colorado Springs, CO., says "My client has super thin and fine hair. She has had trouble growing it out for years so she decided on trying out extensions." The client wanted them as long as possible so Pryse used Babe Tape In Extensions in 22", ordering 4 packs in #2 "Sally" ("which is a brown to match her current hair") and 2 packs in #600 "Dixie" ("which is a blonde so I could color them since she was wanting some violet and blue mixed in.")
FORMULAS:
PURPLE: Blend Joico Intensity- Amethyst, Orchid, and Indigo equal parts.
TEAL: Blend Joico Mermaid Blue and Kenra Teal.
APPLICATION:
"Melt the violet into the blue on most of the blonde pieces so the blue would be more visible on the hair and a few I reversed so you could see pops of violet."
Apply the tape-ins starting an inch in from the hairline and apply a full head, using all 60 pieces. Blend to match.
The installation process took about an hour to complete with blending.
The coloring took me about 45 minutes since I was only coloring 20 pieces of hair violet and teal.
"She comes for maintenance every 10 weeks and we haven't had to touch up the colors yet."
