Oribe Hair Care had a commanding presence on the runway during this year's New York Fashion Week showcasing several designers' Autumn/Winter season garments. Talented Oribe session stylists, along with their hardworking teams, ideated and executed countless hair looks to enhance the visual magic of the runway shows. See some of the styles they created below, and check out the how-to tutorials included with each.

Willy Chavarria

The Willy Chavarria Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection, titled “Safe from Harm,” is rooted in the designer’s emphasis on unity through community, with inclusivity at its core. Session Stylist Joey George brough this philosophy to life by creating individualized hair looks that highlighted natural textures, nodding to the collection’s Americana motifs with a vintage-inspired brush out.

Get the Look: Modern Seventies Brush Out

1.  First, apply Foundation Mist and Invisible Defense Universal Protection Spray section by section and diffuse into the hair.

2.  Apply Swept Up Volume Powder Spray and brush away in sections to elongate and expand the natural texture.

3.  Spray Maximista Thickening Spray to the top of the head and blow the hair dry to flatten the top.

4.  Next, spray Superfine Hair Spray to lock in the shape of the hair and maintain the flat top.

5.  Place a hairnet over the head to lie flat against the hairline across the forehead and cover the entire head. Let the hair sit for 20-30 minutes.

6.  Remove the hair net and finish the look by spraying Superfine Strong Hair Spray to hold the shape in place.

Eckhaus Latta

The Eckhaus Latta Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection is characterized by unique materials and shapes, true to its modern roots. To complement this vision, Session Stylist Dylan Chavles created clean hair looks that celebrate healthy texture and honor natural silhouettes.

Get the Look: Organic Textures

1. First, dampen the hair with water and clean up the natural part with a tail comb.

2. Prep the roots using Maximista Thickening Spray to add fullness for finer hair or spray Foundation Mist to add a healthy gloss on thicker hair.

3. Spray the ends of damp hair with Foundation Mist and use Balm d’Or Heat Styling Shield to add extra hydration if hair is damaged.

4. Tuck the hair behind the ears and dry using a diffuser until 90% dry.

5. Spray a small amount of water over the top of the headto help it resettle.

6. Finish the look with Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil for added natural shine.

For Highly Textured Hair

1. Start by spraying the hair with water to reveal natural curl patterns.

2. Prep the hair with Priming Lotion Leave-In Conditioning Detangler and Foundation Mist to add moisture.

3. Apply Curl Control Silkening Crème to the hair and begin finger coiling around the head to create defined curls.

4. Dry the hair with a diffuser section by section and use fingers to maintain curl shape.

5. Finish the look with Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil for added natural shine. 

LAPOINTE

The LAPOINTE Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection pushed boundaries with eye-catching colors and textures. Session Stylist Joey George brought the collection’s innovative spirit to life with variations of forward-styled cornrow braids, finished with space buns.

Get the Look: Reverse Braided Buns

1. First, prime damp hair with Foundation Mistand Invisible Defense Universal Protection Spray to protect the hair from heat damage.

2. Next, spray Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray and blow dry the hair straight to elongate texture.

3. After the hair is dried, apply Gel Sérum Radiance,Magic and Hold and Rough Luxury Molding Wax to form and gather the hair at the nape of the neck.

4. Starting at the nape of the neck, create forward-styled cornrow braids. To begin the braid, cross the left strand over the middle strand, then cross the right strand over the middle strand. Every time you cross over a section, add a small strand of hair from the same section. Repeat this motion toward the top of the head until the braid meets the base of the hair.

5. Wrap the base of the hair into a small bun at the front of the head and secure with a pin.

6. Set the look with Superfine Strong Hair Spray for long-lasting hold.

MONSE

The MONSE Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection drew inspiration from an extraterrestrial UFO landing on a cold winter day. Oribe Principal Artist of Global Design, Kien Hoang, helped achieve this vision by giving the models a windswept and undone look as if they just witnessed alien-like magic.

Get the Look: Wind Swept

1. First, begin with a natural center part. Prep the hair with Invisible Defense Universal Protection Spray to shield hair from thermal damage and impart gentle moisture.

2. Next, generously spray in Maximista Thickening Spray section by section and use hands to rake through.

3. To begin shaping the look, leave about a quarter inch of hair out around the hairline and tuck one side of hair behind the ear.

4. Dry the hair using a diffuser, hugging the head with the tool until the hair is completely dry.

5. Using Superfine Strong Hair Spray, set the dried look while sweeping the hair left out around the hairline across the face.

For Highly Textured Hair

1. Prep the hair with Priming Lotion Leave-In Conditioning Detangler to detangle and prevent breakage.

2. Using your hands, begin finger coiling the hair around the entire head to prep curls for heat.

3. Next, use a diffuser to set the look and expand the shape of the hair.

4. Set the look using Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray to hold in place.

 Ulla Johnson

The Ulla Johnson Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection drew inspiration from the ethereal colors and airy silhouettes of artist Milton Avery’s paintings. Session Stylist Joey George brought this idea to life by creating light and flowy looks to embody a very free-spirited individual on the runway. 

Get the Look: Untouched Texture

1. Begin by generously spraying Foundation Mist into the hair section by section, beginning at the nape of the neck and climbing up to the hairline.

2. Next, spray Invisible Defense Universal Protection Spray to shield hair from thermal damage and impart gentle moisture.

3. Use a diffuser to completely dry the hair.

4. Once the hair is dry, apply Featherbalm Weightless Styler (for shorter and straighter hair) or Swept Up Volume Powder Spray (for longer, wavier hair) and use hands to style and fluff the hair into a light, airy, natural shape.

5. Set the hair with Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray for a soft, lightweight hold.

Get the Look: Cornrow Braids

1. Prep the hair by generously spraying Foundation Mist throughout.

2. Next, blow dry using a comb to elongate the hair.

3. Once the hair is dry and stretched, apply Curl Gelée for Shine & Definition in half-inch sections around the head to prep the hair for braiding.

4. Create cornrow braids throughout the hair starting at the hairline to the back of the neck.

5. Continue this process around the hairline until the entire head is braided.

6. Set the hair with Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray for a shiny, glossy finish on the braids.

Get the Look: Effortless Grooming

1. Prime the hair with Foundation Mist and Maximista Thickening Spray section by section beginning at the nape of the neck and climbing up to the hairline.

2. Use a diffuser to dry the hair, using hands to muss the hair to create more volume at the crown while drying.

3. Once dry, apply Featherbalm Weightless Styler around the hairline to gently hold the pieces around the face.
