Freehand graduation created the shape of this profile, with weight removed by touching where it feels heavy and balancing the silhouette. “Make sure to remove random weight from midshaft for extra fullness,” Karg says. For three decades, Mike Karg has educated hairdressers in classrooms, on platforms and at trade shows channeling his expertise and extensive worldwide travel experience. Known for his creative finishes using his “DryHairCut” philosophy and techniques, Karg showcases three summer silhouettes created using his line of shears designed to enhance his signature cutting techniques.
This strong silhouette features what Karg calls a “massive fringe” which was created by isolating a large triangular section cut below the eyebrows. Long layers complement a strong interior, using controlled point cutting. Shears: Karg Shear K-Curve, Karg Shear K-TSlide Royale, K-BSlide Royale
This finish was created using the “comb and cut” technique, a method that simultaneously eliminates length and weight. “This look is a complete sculpting around the curves of the head with very soft contours,” Karg says. Shears: Karg Shears K-T, K-BSlide Royale
