Longtime friend of Opening Ceremony and film director Spike Jonze was a large source of inspiration for Opening Ceremony's F/W15 collection and the nail art designed by CND. 

The show was at art gallery Cheim & Read in NYC and paid tribute to Jonze's prolific photography, highlighting 35-millimeter film through collage formats and contact sheets while honoring the Kodak brand.

CND created two linear nail designs that featured Kodak's signature color palette and a third look that paid tribute to one of Jonze's photographs.

"We were completely captivated by Opening Ceremony's creative vision for this collection," says CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. "Their colors and concepts tied in perfectly with CND's fall 2015 trend story, which celebrates an unexpected clash between gritty street elements and refined details for an intriguing combination of glamour and grunge."

The nails were a collaborative effort between the CND design lab team, Opening Ceremony and its design consultant, celebrity nail artist Naomi Yasuda. Vinylux Weekly Polish was used to create the Kodak-colored nails, and a decoupage technique was used to lay Jonze's black-and-white photography on the nail. 

"The nails that CND designed for us this season in collaboration with Naomi Yasuda were a seamless interpretation of our designs onto the models' fingertips," says Opening Ceremony Founder Humberto Leon. "We really wanted this collection to honor Spike's photography and the technology behind it, and it was exciting to see the art come to life on the nails to complete the story."
