At the September 11 show during New York Fashion Week, Thom Browne worked with Oribe Hair Care to transport guests to an unforgettable dinner party with the most eccentric of hosts, as reflected by the extravagant collection this season. Session Stylist James Pecis designed multiple architectural hair looks using braids, shreds of fabric, and flowers as centerpieces to bring the fantasy to life. Pecis shares his techniques here. Three-Part Ponies
Starting on freshly washed, dry hair, create a center part and form three ponytails: one at the nape and two on top of the head. Secure with elastics.
Spray Oribe Superfine Hair Spray over all three ponytails to create flexible hold and give an ultra-dry finish.
Follow by working Rock Hard Gel through each ponytail to create intense hold and shine.
Rope-braid all three ponytails, weaving shreds of fabric into the braids as you go. Once braids are complete, twist up into tight buns and secure.
Finish the look with another application of Rock Hard Gel around the hairline for a slicked-down look close to the head.
Embellish with flowers as desired.
