On August 23, Redken celebrated the winners of their Next Big Thing styling and photo competition with a toast on the rooftops of Beverly Hills. A cocktail party, complete with stunning views of Los Angeles, was held at the Sixty Beverly Hills Hotel.
The Next Big Thing winners are: Brittany VanDyke (@britblends) of Joplin, MO, Karla Valenzuela (@kolor.me.karlaa) of Chandler, AZ, Bri-Anna Burkey (@breekburkey_redkenartist) of Huntertown, ID, Laura Frazier (@hairzillaa), Kyle Pinneo (@kyle.redken) of Lincoln, NS, and Jacklyn Harwood (@jacklynharwood).
The Next Big Thing winners were in town to take part in the NYX Professional Makeup Face Awards; they would be doing the hairstyles for the makeup artist finalists. They also participated in a photo session and were mentored by industry icon, Sam Villa.
This year’s NYX Face awards took place on Saturday, August 25th at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles and were hosted by makeup artist Patrick Starrr. Judges Alex Faction, Laura Sanchez, Charisma Star and Ve Neill were also on-hand to lend their experience, support and input. Rachel Maksy took home the grand prize.
