Senior Digital Content Strategist
Jamie Newman is the Senior Digital Content Strategist of MODERN SALON. The Chicago-based editor collaborates closely with salon professionals, social influencers and brands to connect them with MODERN’s readers and online community—an audience that includes a print circulation of 100,000 and more than one million Instagram followers. Newman is a key contributor to MODERN SALON Media’s Artist Connective influencer program, social media platforms, digital channels, print publications and custom media projects. Newman joined MODERN in 2015.

Jordan Heath Heidenwith is a color guru based in our own backyard of downtown Chicago. If you scroll through his feed, you'll see his keys for a successful photo are natural lighting, an urban-chic brick wall of a Chicago alley, and beautiful models. Really! Heidenwith consistently works with Ford Modeling Agency in Chicago for all model's hair services.
Michigan-based blonding expert Catherine Long is a balayage QUEEN. We've been long-time followers of her for her icy, beautiful color work and gorgeous photos of her work. See why else we named her a 2017 MODERN SALON 100.
We love repping the whole beauty community, but we feel a certain obligation to make sure our Midwestern neighbors get their well-deserved limelight. After a friend visited this MODERN SALON 100's honoree's salon in St. Louis, we found Kristina Cheeseman on Instagram and were blown away--literally. Cheeseman showcases many of her color creations in wind-blown stills, and we'll never stop obsessing over them.
Anthony Negron, better known as @kinganthonyyyy on Instagram, has been winning over the MODERN SALON editors' hearts for quite some time due to his beautiful cut, color and styling work. His page is full of inspo for both men and women and you can always count on him to share multiple angles to get the full effect of his #hairdressermagic. This MODERN SALON 100 honoree is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Beyond being a celebrity hair and makeup artist, blonde specialist, extension expert and more, Olivia Smalley creates seriously addicting videos of herself at work for social media, and has taught us many tricks when it comes to navigating various platforms.
Pass the lightener! Chelsea Tyler Milligan is known for balayage, ombre and extensions, and we love her page for inspiration for all of the above!
Under one roof inside one of the fest’s handful of guest lounges, the SalonCentric Beauty Lounge hosted Pravana, Pink Pewter and Artistic Nail Design. The beauty oasis amid the more chaotic festival outside its tree-lined enclave served up hair styling and colored extension applications to guest lounge attendees.
Lindsey Joslyn-Rohner is one of the most big-hearted people we have had the pleasure of working with in the beauty world. Besides being an incredible woman, her lashing skills are out of this world. We love her page, @lashbeat, because it not only showcases her beautiful work, it also spotlights being a working #GirlBoss in the industry.
It's a dream situation for a stylist on Instagram for a creation to go viral, especially for a 20-something-year-old stylist. Hannah Edelman's chocolate mauve color creation blew up all over the internet, making its way to consumer-publication pages as the IT color for spring, even inspiring Selena Gomez to mix some dusty pink into her chocolate locks.
