Color Happy
In Bruges, Belgium, William De Ridder, owner of De Ridder International and De Ridder Academy, created these looks by emphasizing the perimeters with Paul Mitchell Inkwork. Level-9 Venetian and Nordic blondes look great with geometric cuts that are creatively color-edged or surface-shined with Clear. The Artistic Director for Intercoiffure, Belgium, De Ridder recently partnered with Esani Institute, an Atlanta Paul Mitchell Partner School, to bring trends and advanced education to the U.S.

Gray Matters
Dan Nguyen, owner of Lure Salon in Vancouver, British Columbia, created styles for “uptown and downtown girls” in “Gray Matters” (as in the neutral gray background) for Oribe. The looks converge in what Nguyen describes as “the yin and yang in all of us.” The hair was styled with Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray, Dry Texturizing Spray and Crème.
Black & White
What happens when classic elegance meets whimsical fantasy? Chrystofer Benson, artistic director for Logics and lead educator at the Matrix Global Academy, decided to forge that combination when he created the Black & White collection. Ballerina buns, chignons and bobs are given a shot of crimping, teasing and exaggerated texture. The stark background lets the strong shapes and the wardrobe of wool, mohair and feathers shine through.
Sanrizz 2011 Color Collection
Sanrizz, London’s iconic group of salons and educational academies, has been creating a standard of hairdressing excellence since its founding over 30 years ago by Tony Rizzo. “Our philosophy at Sanrizz is to deliver perfectionism in all of the hairdressing services we provide,” says the company’s mission statement. Perfection is a tall order, but Sharon Cox of the Creative Team delivers with Sanrizz’s signature precision cutting and expert coloring techniques in the Sanrizz Color Collection for 2011.

Day to Night
Adeline Chung-Feder, Aloxxi artistic team member, and co-owner (with her husband) of Bodhi salon in Brooklyn, New York, created this versatile color that can be worn conservatively or with a slight punk edge.
Milk Chocolate
Organic Salon Systems’ Creative Color Advisor Lori Esposito lightened up this model from dark brunette to a milk chocolate shade. This lighter, brighter shade of brunette is a great way to make clients summer-ready without going blonde.
Color Mash-Up
This color explosion from the Farouk team makes the most of the season’s hippest shades. “The inspiration for the collection was how you can use light to expose color,” said Lisa Marie Garcia, Farouk artistic director. “We chose to call the collection ‘Exposed’ based on how we could expose vibrant color in one style and then, by changing the direction of the hair, expose another color.”
