Face & Body, an annual conference and expo held exclusively for skin care, spa and wellness professionals, announced Alison O’Neil, founder of Beauty Becomes You, as the keynote speaker for its Southeast show, to be held Oct. 15-17, 2016. O’Neil’s keynote presentation, titled “The Intention to Serve: The Most Valuable Beauty Secret Ever Divulged,” will explore what really counts toward a professional’s success and what it means to have “a servant’s heart.”O’Neil will share her secrets for touching people’s lives in the world of beauty and wellness, honing in on the saying: “People will not remember what you said or did, but they will remember how you made them feel.”
O’Neil is an industry consultant and expert with more than 30 years of medical esthetics and esthetic rehabilitation experience. After being introduced to the idea of using cosmetics as an intervention to counseling those with disfigurements from burns, O’Neil left college to pursue her cosmetology license in St. Petersburg, Florida. She later returned to earn her degree in Mental Health and Human Services with a specialization in the Psychology of Appearance and Cosmetic Treatments. While working as a medical-surgical assistant in dermatology, O’Neil developed the Dermatologic Rehabilitation Clinic at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
In 2006, she started Beauty Becomes You, a charitable foundation which serves the aesthetic health and hygiene needs of senior adults through the provision of personal grooming solutions that maintain and improve appearance, preserve dignity and self-respect, lift self-esteem, and ensure a strong sense of personal pride.
"Alison’s message on touching others’ lives as a spa, beauty or wellness professional needs to be heard, especially in this industry," said Katie Anderson, Face & Body conference director and Skin Inc. editor. “We’re thrilled to hear about her journey and the useful insights that attendees will go home with."
For more than 20 years, Face & Body has brought industry professionals a product-neutral Advanced Education Conference program, numerous networking opportunities and a leading expo. This event is presented by Skin Inc. magazine.
