Anthony Barnes-Smith, owner of Q Hair and Beauty in Chichester, England was recently thrown a surprise party to celebrate his 70th birthday and his 55th year in hairdressing. Leading lights in the hair and beauty industry came from all over the country to help him celebrate. The party paid tribute to Barnes-Smith’s remarkable career on the national and international scene. While Q managing director Dawn Lawrence was busy organising the event, with lots of effort by the entire Q team over the past two months, she somehow managed to keep it a total secret from the man himself.
“These milestones just keep getting better and better,” Barnes-Smith says. “Sharing the celebrations with friends and colleagues was fantastic and it was wonderful to receive so many messages from around the world as well.”
