Lavacqua, the professional hair care brand that has tapped into the potential of volcanic waters to benefit hair, actively seeks distribution for its leave-in treatment, Lavacqua Volcanic Water Final Rinse.
CEO Stellario D’Urso and President of Lavacqua Geppe Enfiomusi both come from Sicily, a geography dominated by the presence of Mount Etna, the largest and most active volcano in Europe.
“I would love to tell you that we invented this product in a very scientific way but that would not be correct,” D’Urso says. “We noticed that our Sicilian friends coming to visit us in the US would complain about their hair being unmanageable, while, conversely, our wives and daughter, while visiting Sicily, would comment on how they were having their best hair days, ever. We started researching the possible causes and discovered the benefits of the mineral contents of the volcanic waters. We formulated a cocktail of botanical elements that further enhance the benefit of the water and manufactured a small batch of product that was extensively tested by hairdressers in different areas of the US. The results were unanimously positive and the benefit were clear and immediate. We started working on the new brand, packaging and positioning and are now ready to launch.”
