On May 14, 2014, at their corporate headquarters in Denton, TX, SALLY Beauty Supply invited their partners in success to commemorate 50 beautiful years of working together. Vendors, media and Sally Beauty employees came together to toast SALLY Beauty Supply’s 50th anniversary (their first store location opened in New Orleans in 1964). At a lovely cocktail reception, Gary Winterhalter, the company’s current Chairman, CEO and President, thanked everyone for traveling and coming together to join in the celebration
“I really want to thank everybody for your support in Modern Salon this month with the anniversary journal, it really came out nice, and we really appreciate all the congratulatory messages,” Winterhalter said. “I’d like to thank the local folks that are here from the City of Denton, the local suppliers and local press. Lastly, I really want to thank all of you for years and years of partnership and support. I have been doing this for a long time, as many of you know. I have known some of you for longer than many of us would like to admit or think about but to have partnerships in business that go back 40 to 45 years is something that doesn’t happen in most businesses but I think it’s part of the fabric of our industry and part of what makes this industry unique and something I have grown to truly appreciate.”

Winterhalter also introduced and welcomed Christian Brickman as the company’s new President and CEO effective June 2, 2014. Brickman has been a member of the company's Board of Directors since September 2012. He most recently served as President of Kimberly-Clark International, which is the primary international division of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a role he held from May 2012 to February 2014. In this capacity, Mr. Brickman led Kimberly-Clark's international consumer business in all operations outside of North America.
“I’m really looking forward to working with all of you, “Brickman said. “ There is a great legacy to live up to and I want to put even more energy into it and take things to the next level.”
