On a recent photo shoot high up in the Hollywood Hills, Sexy Hair artists prepared their models near a sparkling pool, under waving palm trees. The images emerging were for Sexy Hair’s latest haircut collection, which combines classic and cutting-edge looks and styles for a modern take on Hollywood beauty. While the full reveal will be in January, MODERN went backstage to join the Sexy Hair team and learn about the story behind these new looks.
An inspiration board.
“Hollywood is where people come to prove themselves, to reinvent, transform and create their own success story,” says Jennifer Weiderman, VP of Marketing and Education at Sexy Hair. “And that aligns with Sexy Hair which is all about being daring, provocative and confident. We have celebrated classic Hollywood beauty with our Marilyn Monroe campaign, which will continue, and this new collection of modern cuts will complement and supplement that by juxtaposing the classic and the current. “

The shoot took place over two days and captured casual, hip and swanky versions of short, medium and long haircuts, as well as featuring updos and braided styling. Men’s looks, too, featured three styling options for short or long hair. The styles feature lots of movement and very on-trend elements.
Artistic Creative Director Rafe Hardy worked with editorial stylists and master educators Nadirah Volpe, Meaghan Masterson and Peter Bokanoski to create the collection looks.
“Hairdressers will see in these shapes and designs that being creative doesn’t have to be complicated,” Hardy said. “We emphasize the importance of the consultation and asking questions so you know where you can go. This new collection will also illustrate a modern approach to today’s glam and how you can get it with the right tools and products. You can change hair texture, you can build volume, if you have the right information. We’re about teaching the hairdresser to be more than just a hair cutter.”
As with every collection, Sexy Hair will provide hairdressers with step-by-steps, videos and inspiring finished images. Keep eyes open for these new looks, coming soon.
