As hard as it is to believe, John Paul DeJoria, CEO and co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems, has never…that’s right NEVER…been honored by the salon industry! He has received awards and nods worldwide for his charitable work but has yet to be acknowledged by the salon world for his contributions. The members of Intercoiffure America/Canada decided to right that wrong and gave him the VISIONARY OF THE YEAR AWARD at the most recent Trend Luncheon held this past Monday at the Waldorf Hotel in New York City. THE EVENT: “The Gathering 2010,” John Paul Mitchell Systems’ annual educational and inspirational event first launched in 1991, held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. THE DETAILS: Almost 4,000 hairdressers from around the world came to celebrate Paul Mitchell’s 30th anniversary. Classes, seminars and workshops were offered by various teams including: Angus Mitchell, Takashi Kitamura and Julian Perlingiero; LaDonna Dryer and Lucie Doughty; Stephanie Kocielski and Linda Yodice and many more. Business forums were offered by Winn Claybaugh and Robert Cromeans.
