Paul Mitchell, along with CEO and Co-Founder, John Paul DeJoria, have been longtime supporters of the Los Angeles-based organization, the Chrysalis Center in Santa Monica, Calif.—a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.

This year, the brand is supporting Chrysalis’ Women's Empowerment Program that provides a forum for female clients to come together and develop workplace skills and network with professional mentors, helping them reenter the workforce. Paul Mitchell has provided head-to-toe transformations, monetary and career support for select program participants, helping them color their confidence and get a fresh start.

Over the last decade, John Paul had made a personal commitment to both Chrysalis and the clients they serve (as he was homeless before starting his corporation). He routinely visits the Chrysalis Center to share his story of change with those who are currently living in crisis. Additionally, he generously provides annual financial support and most recently made a leadership gift towards the expansion of Chrysalis’ Skid Row Center. The expanded Center, which is set to open in June, will highlight John Paul’s support in their expanded clothing and resource room. The Resource room will provide work ready clothes for clients as they begin the interview process along with Paul Mitchell products to help build their self esteem and ensure that they look as good on the outside as they feel on the inside.
