What's one habit that's contributed most to your success?
Taking care of myself.
Pilates has become one of my favorite ways to care for both my mind and body. It improves my strength, posture and mobility while giving me the mental reset I need after long days behind the chair.
What's one mistake you see beauty professionals make repeatedly?
Being overly accommodating with clients. Healthy boundaries benefit both you and the people you serve.

What's one investment that paid off more than you expected?
Business education. Investing in my business knowledge has been just as valuable as investing in technical education.
What's something you've changed your mind about during your career?
Early in my career, I thought success meant saying yes to everything—every client, every opportunity and every wedding date.
Over time, I realized success isn't about doing more; it's about doing the right things well.
I've also learned that work-life balance doesn't magically appear once you're successful. It's something you have to intentionally create and protect. The better I take care of myself, the better I show up for my clients, my family and my business.
What's inspiring you right now?
Sleek hair styling. It's timeless, polished, classy and clean.

What should our industry be talking about more?
Hair and makeup artists deserve to be recognized as true wedding professionals.
We're often overlooked, but we're responsible for how a bride looks and feels on one of the most important days of her life and that's what lives on forever in the photographs.
What skill will matter most over the next five years?
Creating an unforgettable client experience—and strong communication. Those two skills will continue to separate great artists from everyone else.
One last piece of advice for the MODERN SALON community?
Never stop learning, but don't just invest in your technical skills, invest in yourself.
The most successful artists I know stay curious, build genuine relationships and understand that growth happens through collaboration, not competition.
