What's something you wish every beauty professional knew earlier?

The people who matter most are the person sitting in your chair and the person standing behind it.

Take care of your clients, but don't forget to take care of yourself, too.

What's one habit that's contributed most to your success?

Never stop learning.

Take every class you can, no matter how long you've been in the industry. There's always something new to learn.

What's one mistake you see beauty professionals make repeatedly?

Comparing themselves to others.

Every artist has something valuable to bring to the table. Focus on your own strengths instead of someone else's highlight reel.

What's one investment that paid off more than you expected?

Maintaining the relationships I make at industry events.

The real value isn't just attending, it's staying connected long after the event is over.

What's something you've changed your mind about during your career?

Hustle culture.

I've realized my best work happens when I'm doing well mentally. Taking care of my mental health makes me a better stylist, educator and person.

What's inspiring you right now?

I love seeing the confidence of newer stylists.

It tells me those of us who've been in the industry longer are helping create an environment where the next generation feels supported and empowered.

What should our industry be talking about more?

Mental health. It's a conversation our industry needs to keep having.

What skill will matter most over the next five years?

Communication and connection.

Technical skills will always matter, but relationships are what create lasting careers.
