What an amazing weekend I had! On July 16, 2010, my grandmother turned 100 years old (see the video “my grandma dancing at her 100th birthday party” on YouTube). Then, when I got home I heard that Matrix GM Colin Walsh and his wife welcomed their second child into the world on the same day. I realized that on July 16, I knew of someone who was one day old and someone who was 100 years old. Since I don’t think this will happen to me again, I started to think, “What does someone who has lived a full life know that can help someone who is just starting?”
Wow—what a thrill it was to be nominated for 2010 NAHA Makeup Artist of the Year! Since this was my first nomination, I was a nervous wreck—so many parties and events. I was honored, but the main thing on my mind was: I didn’t have a thing to wear.

Wow! It's the day after NAHA and OMG, every time I think about the event last night, I get big huge butterflies in my stomach! Such an amazing feeling to be in the room with such talent and passion for the industry. This is the sexiest, most passionate, fantastic, artisitc expressive industry out there and I am so honored to say I am a part of it!
I am so excited about tonight I can hardly stand it! I've never been to NAHA, but I've been obsessed with it since I saw the finalists' entries (view all the submissions at modernsalon.com/naha). I can't believe it's finally here!
