The gifts have been put away, and the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows long gone...or are they?

Not so fun fact: most gift wrapping isn’t eco-friendly and cannot be recycled, especially if glitter, metallic or foil are involved. When holiday wrapping is improperly disposed of it can actually contaminate an entire recycling pick-up, causing it to be rerouted by yet another dump truck to the landfill.

For the 2020 holiday season, Eufora took that problem to task and abandoned traditional gift boxed sets in favor of keepsake birch wood boxes. No wrapping paper required!

Once all the decor was put away, Eufora continued the project with the launch of its first in a series of “upcycling” initiatives by repurposing the boxes. From bird houses, to terrariums and city chic handbags, the results to date have been amazing.

You can get in the game (and win prizes too!) by taking a photo of your personal upcycling artistry and posting to Instagram with the hashtag #EuforaUpcycles and @euforainternational.

Following right on the heels of the holiday birch wood box, Eufora has also unveiled a promotional campaign for 2021 that abandons paper box or shrink-wrapped packaging in favor of collectible bags that can be reused long after the products inside are gone. The yearlong campaign is titled “The Marvelously Discarded” and is centered on repurposing or upcycling, instead of discarding and contributing to landfill waste.
