My First Time: A Razor Cut with Nick Arrojo
In an anniversary year for the Arrojo NYC brand, on an early Monday morning, Nick Arrojo used a razor on my hair. And I liked it.
Every year, we are delighted to spotlight artists in our industry with this list of game changers. Here is the MS100 of 2021!

The MODERN SALON 100 list was originally launched to celebrate the creators of great hair, great beauty and great content. Internally, we often referred to this list as our “gamechangers,” because these artists were innovative users of social media, especially Instagram, and their feeds were filled with images of inspiring work.
It continues to be a list of ones-to-watch, compiled with input from across our MODERN SALON team. It has grown to include a variety of beauty pros, including salon success coaches and nail artists. We look for beauty professionals whose work ties-in with our mission at MODERN, which is to uplift the industry, inspire future professionals, and illustrate what we believe at our core; that beauty makers are genuine, real-life gamechangers. Congratulations to the MODERN SALON 100 of 2021!
