Rock∙Paper∙Shears recently introduced a new subscription program that will change the way stylists access and maintain high-performance shears. Monthly subscriptions begin at just $8 a month per shear and are available in four- or six-month subscription cycles, depending on how often subscribers want to receive sharp shears. All subscriptions include regular maintenance ad sharpening, as well as round-trip shipping.
Here’s how it works: A stylist chooses a pair of shears and whether they want four- or six-month subscription cycle. The shears are put to work and as the stylist is nearing the end of their subscription cycle, they choose whether they want to choose a new style of shears next or if they want the same kind. Sharp shears are mailed to the subscriber, along with a prepaid envelope to return the dull shears.
“Stylists can finally stop accumulating shears that they don’t use,” says Pat Lazure, founder of Rock∙Paper∙Shears, “Instead, there’s now a better way, where stylists only pay for shears that they actually use, while the bothersome task of having their shears sharpened is forever checked off their to-do lists.”
Rock∙Paper∙Shears offers shears with the highest quality, premium Japanese metal, yet a subscription won’t set a stylist back $300-$800. The company’s premium shears are crafted from the highest-quality Japanese 440C steel, while their elite shears take it up a notch with their coveted, high-carbon Japanese VG-10 stainless steel.
“Dull shears can crush or bend your client’s hair cuticles, cause split ends, and leave unclean lines—putting your reputation at risk,” Lazure says. “And, compensating for dull shears requires heavier hand pressure and additional cuts, which may eventually lead to hand, wrist and arm problems for the working stylist. Now maintaining sharp shears is convenient and affordable.”
Subscriptions are offered throughout the country, in all 50 states. For more information, visit Rock∙Paper∙Shears.
