It’s been three years in development, but clearly it has been worth the wait. Yes, the Moroccanoil Academy is under construction and will be all set for the official January 2020 opening.

The academy has been a passion project for Robert Ham, Moroccanoil Vice President, Global Education, which will be located on the 12th floor of a magnificent high rise at 135 East 57th street in New York City. “We’ve always valued our relationship with stylists, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally commit this extraordinary space to them and their continued education,” Ham says.

The Moroccanoil Academy will ultimately be a total 8000 square feet (including lobby and offices) with 4000 square feet dedicated to education space. Right now there are 40 classes scheduled for 2020 with a maximum of 30 salon pros per class.

MODERN stopped by to visit to see the progress. Here Ham takes us on a “hard hat” tour as a team of architects, designers and builders do what they have to do to get everything up and running so that that the team is settled for the highly anticipated grand opening.
