Nikita Hair, one of Europe’s leading hair salon groups now expanding through franchising, recently announced Mark Kartarik as President of Nikita Hair USA. With more than three decades of experience leading executives at major salon franchises, Kartarik will help guide and provide strategic oversight to the leadership team alongside International president, Christinah Nicolaisen and founder, Inger Ellen Nicolaisen. Specifically, Kartarik will be tasked with growing the brand through franchise partnerships, helping set fire to U.S. expansion.
“Nikita Hair is a household name in Europe and for good reason,” said Kartarik, who previously was president of the Franchise Division of Regis Corporation. “Nikita’s reputation, quality of service and unparalleled products has a place here in the U.S. and I plan to find equally excellent franchise partners to grow with us. Our executive team is filled with creative and innovative leaders, and I’m honored to both work alongside them and grow the brand – it, too, will be a household name in the U.S. before you know it.”
Kartarik joins Nikita Hair with years of executive leadership in the haircare industry, where he served as the president of Sports Clips for several years, overseeing its 1,600-plus locations. His career of 27 years at Regis Corporation included serving as executive vice president as well as president of the franchise division of Regis Corporation. There, he oversaw all North American franchise brands, and worked to increase the number of Supercuts, Cost Cutters, First Choice Haircutters and Roosters locations nationwide. Kartarik’s most recent professional endeavor involved heading Salon Ultimate as COO while also running his own corporation, The Kartarik Group.
“Mark’s leadership style and knowledge is going to jive perfectly with that of the rest of our team,” added Christinah Nicolaisen, International President of Nikita Hair. “We were selective in our process of looking for someone to support the growth of Nikita Hair in the US, and I truly can’t think of someone more qualified and prepared to help ramp up franchise development in the States.”
Nikita Hair has become one of the most profitable hair salon chains in the world with 150+ locations and 1,000 employees. Its proven franchise model in Europe and proprietary seven-step training process will be replicated in the United States, where Inger Ellen Nicolaisen sees limitless growth opportunities in the $62 billion-dollar beauty industry.
“We’re thrilled to have Mark join the Nikita leadership team,” shared founder Inger Ellen Nicolaisen. “His experience with Regis will prove to be an incredibly valuable asset, plus he fits in perfectly with our core values of mentorship, enthusiasm and positivity. We’re sure his expertise will enhance our success”.
The brand is gearing up to open Nikita Hair salon number 152 in Mason, OH in the US during Q4 of this year.
Founded on Inger’s “inclusive over exclusive” mentality, the thriving hair salon chain offers a wide array of hair and scalp services inspired by international trends for both women and men at affordable prices. At Nikita Hair, stylists provide clients with a full assessment, and advice on products and treatments to keep their hair in the best shape. Every salon offers an exclusive line of hair and skin care products – Eleni and Chris – made with pure ingredients sourced from Scandinavia.
Nikita Hair is currently seeking inspired franchise partners with management experience, communication skills, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude. The company would like to work with driven individuals to expand the brand through single and multi-unit franchise agreements. Prior experience in the hair salon industry is not a requirement. As the brand continues U.S. franchise expansion plans, it aims to have 200 Nikita Hair salons in the near future.
