Tom Connell has been announced as Davines Hair Art Director, a new role created to develop the Davines hair identity.

Connell will be involved in the making of collections, hair shows and Davines Education program.

"What made me fall for Davines was a combination of the company aesthetics and social values," Connell says. "To have the opportunity to help develop the creative vision of such a unique company, that plays such an important role in the industry, was extremely interesting to me."

Connell was born into beauty in Manchester, England, where his parents owned a salon. At sixteen, he moved to London to develop his identity as a stylists and to soak up the creative influences of the diverse and vibrant city. Most recently, he has been a part of the Trevor Sorbie team, taking the role of Artistic Director in 2015.

"My approach is to provide the education and processes to help people innovate, not replicate. To leave the person with more than haircut or colour techniques, I want to help people approach their work with fresh eyes, look for inspiration in unusual places and give them the skills to produce truly original work."
