We are in the midst of the World Series, the most important competition in baseball. Although there are many reasons to tune in (watching great baseball, appreciating intense athleticism, cute guys), the players themselves are giving beauty professionals even more reason to watch.

Are you aware that most of the catchers in the MLB (Major League Baseball) use nail polish to make their signals easier for the pitcher to see? Up until recently, many used White Out from the middle of the finger to the nail to make their fingers more obvious. These days, with all the great neon shades available, many catchers are opting for the bright IN YOUR FACE colors.

The latest news, reported in the New York Times, one player (Salvador Perez of the Kansas City Royals) is even wearing perfume (he prefers Victoria’s Secret and 212 VIP) which has been acknowledged by the umpires. “You smell good, my friend, thank you,” they tell him, according to Perez and as reported in the NYT.

Can you think of any other beauty/sports related news? Please share here and view the games: the Kansas City Royals vs. San Francisco Giants. It’s a wonderful way to support our national pastime.
