Most viral post: A post of my daughter! A side-by-side of my 5 year old with pink hair got 18,770 likes and 757 comments. I made a video the day I made her hair pink (I also did my 2 year olds hair in it) which got more than 60,000 views and 296 saves.

Tip to get best results on a post: It’s all about lighting and trying to show off what you created. Move your client around and find the perfect combination of pose and lighting. If you just spent 3-6 hours on someone, what’s another 5 minutes to get the perfect shot?! I can’t stress enough how important pictures are right now in our industry. As a salon owner, I have a hard time even accepting a stylist application from someone who doesn’t have an Instagram page.

How social media changed my life: Instagram has given the ability for the best artists to be noticed no matter where you work or how long you’ve been in the industry. I feel like I’ve been here for over a decade just wanting to be noticed by my peers in the hair community and maybe it’s finally happening.
The first time I was featured on MODERN SALON was….: This year! I got this idea in my head to push myself this spring to try new things and I took a few color clients and boom - it happened. I was obsessed with orange hair and wanted to try to do a tangerine color on someone so I got a free model off craigslist to do it. Modern Salon reposted it April 20, 2017
