How social media changed my life: When I first started doing hair, I struggled with braids and upstyles. I worked every day until I became comfortable, and I made my weakness my strength. I decided to start a professional Instagram account after I took a Sexy Hair social media class at an update training for educators. The class taught by Glenda Vasquerano Briones completely inspired me to build a presence on Instagram for my styles and braids. I owe all my success to Glenda and Sexy Hair for helping me see my potential and believe in myself.

The first time I was featured on MODERN SALON: I had tried for months to get my styles shared. I decided to enter the Wedding Party Wednesday contest. I was working my third job bartending at a bowling alley. All my coworkers knew my goals and how I’d been trying to get my work noticed. The cook there was actually one of my models I use of Instagram. We were both working and my phone kept going off, so I checked it, and my entry was shared, and I was a runner up. My heart starting racing because I was so excited. All my hard work paid off! It was in that moment I believed anything is possible if you don’t give up.
