Most viral post: My most viral post so far was my cotton candy hair. I can’t tell you why exactly it went viral but that thing blew up! My phone didn’t stop going off for three days. I think it’s because when people want to dive into vivids a majority of people feel the most safe with pastels as well as the colors pink and purple. If that’s the case, I hope I convinced a lot of people into unicorn hair!
Favorite apps: iMovie is essential for videos because it is so easy! I love Facetune because when you’re posting clients’ faces or profile, they want you to touch them up! Smooth their skin, fix that little eyeliner smear, cover the blemish...make them look fierce!
Favorite hashtags: #modernsalon #pulpriothair #authentichairarmy
I follow: @bottleblonde76@xostylistxo@shmeggsandbacon@garrettkenroach@electric.locks
Pro tips: It’s all in the details. I photograph my clients against a white wall, but I always go in with Facetune to blur out the texture in the wall. Hashtag accordingly, if you want clients, hashtag locally and use tags describing the hair, if you want shoutouts use shoutout page hashtags. Make sure your lighting is adding to your photo and not taking away and if the picture isn’t perfect, don’t post it.

Hidden talent (beauty-related): I have probably double the amount of blonde clients than I do vivid clients, I just never post them. I babylight most of them too so I am a super quick detailed weaver.
Hidden talent: I have one talent and that is putting together mouse dioramas. Like Dinner for Schmucks status. I can’t believe I can’t think of a more normal talent and that I’m broadcasting this right now.
How social media changed my life: Social media has changed my life completely! I have so many friends and resources, it’s truly life changing. I have so many people I can fall back on, ask for advice, and learn from. Not only that, but my clientele has grown tremendously! It’s the best way to advertise your work. If you’re trying to grow your clientele I don’t see why anybody would pass up the opportunity to show off your work the way you want to represent yourself and get clients in your chair almost effortlessly.
The first time I was featured on MODERN’s Insta: Of course I remember the first time. I had just made my Instagram account and was trying to poke my nose around a little bit and thought that if I started entering contests, maybe the pages would recognize my name eventually and repost my work! A post came up that it was the last day to enter the Balayage & Boho competition, and I thought “this client I just did has braids.. why not.” I entered the competition just hoping they’d see my name. They started rolling out the semifinalists and I clicked on the link wanting to see the work that made it and mine popped up! I was so caught off guard I put my phone down and was convincing myself it was probably a glitch. It had to be. I didn’t want to get excited for no reason. I was getting my nails done and I said to my nail girl “....I think something just happened.....” And she said “that’s you!” I wanted to scream. I waited until they posted my photo on the Instagram page before I really believed it. Eventually they did and it was the push I needed to realize I wasn’t wasting my time making a hair account. I brushed off the idea for years! I just hit a year since I made my account and I owe a huge thank you to @modernsalon for kicking off one of my most successful years and proving that anything is possible!
