Top-performing post: One of my most engaged posts was actually one of my client’s selfies! The power of a selfie is REAL! She took it sitting in her car with her dog right after she left the salon. Her hair color was the perfect shade of cool blonde, and I had just chopped about 12 inches off leaving her with a really chic blunt bob! It got so many saves!
Favorite apps: Facetune for tweaking minor things like blemishes, flyaways or for defocusing the background! Pixlr for adjusting shadows, brightness and highlights.

Pro tip: I feel like the best results come from seeing the face and hair of the person you’re trying to capture. As a stylist, all I’m focused on is the hair, but Instagram proves to me every time that my audience loves seeing the actual person! Nine out of 10 times your guests are smiling ear to ear because they love their hair so much—capture that!
Hidden talent: I am the fastest foiler probably ever! I’ve gotten my timing down to about one foil every 15 seconds! I totally zone out and become a machine.
My audience follows me because: I think my audience follows me because I keep it real. I’m pretty direct with my posts and also show a lot of daily life shenanigans on my stories!
How social media changed my life: Social Media has helped me make connections I never thought I would make. Through Instagram, I’ve met people who have opened doors for me, presented me with amazing opportunities, become close friends with people on the other side of the globe, and honestly, it’s made my life way more fun and interesting!
My first @modernsalon feature: The first time I was posted on @modernsalon was for a feature I was doing with Wet Brush! It was a fresh color job, and I explained how easy it was to apply my glosses using the new Wet Brush Pro line! I remember getting the notification that @modernsalon tagged me a picture and immediately FREAKED OUT in the best way! Naturally, I texted my mom a screen shot.
