Rusk’s 2015 Flashback Collection is a modernized nod to the trends of the ’60s and ’70s, designed to host a look fit for any client. Loose layers, choppy bangs and soft texturizing paired with natural color is made more dramatic with added dimension and shine. Each look was styled with the Rusk Styling Collection, formulated with Style + Strength Complex, a blend of Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Silk Amino Acids and Hydrolized Keratin, designed to deliver the ultimate in hair strengthening benefits plus color and thermal protection. The lookbook and how-to videos are available at trade shows, authorized distributor stores and, through Rusk DSCs and distributors.

Cutting technique: The Roundabout cutting method works with the curvature of the head and combines a short undercut with a slightly longer top.

Coloring technique: The Lava Lights color technique can go from demure to dramatic and gives the stylist and client maximum flexibility to infuse their own individual style.

Base: ¾ oz Deepshine Conditioning Cream Hair Color 6.66RR (Intense Brilliant Red) + ¼ oz 5.6R (Red) + ¼ oz Deepshine Direct Red + 1½ oz Deepshine Shine Enhancing 10-volume developer

Pony: ½ oz 4.5MM (Deep Mahogany) + ½ oz 2.2V (Deepest Violet) + 1½ oz 10- volume developer

Cutting technique: The Lift-and-Roll Method creates a tight perimeter and loose interior for a shag-inspired style. No matter the texture, the stylist can adjust the parting sizes and the cut can be adapted to any client.

Coloring technique: Create a 3D balayage effect by adding depth and substance with tone-on-tone highlights or vibrant color accents.

SECOND-TIME AROUND

Cutting technique: The SeeSaw Method is ideal for maintaining length while giving the client soft, invisible layers.

Coloring technique: Dimensional color is ideal for this look. Adapt a shadowing technique to highlight the beautiful soft layers that will stand out strong.
