As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HairToStay organizes an engaging virtual entertaining and educational event to raise money to subsidize the cost of scalp cooling, a treatment that can dramatically reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss.

HairToStay's Home Cabaret for Breast Cancer Awareness Month will engage, entertain and educate salon professionals and their clients about scalp cooling to reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HairToStay is teaming up with salons across the country for a fundraiser that engages, entertains and educates the professional beauty industry and beyond about their mission.
On Sunday, October 25th HairToStay will broadcast its hour-long Home Cabaret for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and tickets are on sale now. This show will be hosted by Taryn Southern, a singer, actress, producer, breast cancer survivor and cold cap user. This unique production will feature comedian Paula Poundstone and Carlos Reyes, a Grammy Award-winning musician, as well as a talented cast of artists.
The event also shines a light on breast cancer and scalp cooling during an interview with Dr. Hope Rugo, a UCSF breast oncology specialist and the principal trial investigator for the FDA scalp-cooling clinical, as well as Bethany Hornthal, co-founder and executive director of HairToStay.

HairToStay is the first and only national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low-income cancer patients afford scalp cooling, a treatment that can dramatically reduce chemotherapy-induced hair loss. As well as subsidizing the treatment, HairToStay raises awareness and offers information and support to patients considering the use of scalp cooling to keep their hair during chemotherapy.
“The only thing you long for is a sense of normalcy. Thanks to HairToStay, I was able to keep that to some degree by being able to keep my hair,” says one subsidy recipient. “I am truly thankful that this program exists! It has made the process of chemotherapy less frightening to myself, my husband, our teenager, middle-schooler and 8 year-old twins. Thank you HairToStay—you have forever left your mark on our family.”

Comedian Paula Poundstone will entertain at the Cabaret event.
Salons and stylists are on the front lines caring for their clients who have received a cancer diagnosis, shepherding them through the difficult and deeply personal struggle that diagnosis and treatment brings. HairToStay is working closely with Amika, Scott J Aveda Salons and many others, to spread the word about this unique event targeted specifically to the Hair Care Industry.
Cancer patients, salons, nonprofits and artists are struggling along with so many others during these challenging times. Cancer, unfortunately, doesn't go on lockdown, and demands for the generous subsidies continue to grow given the deep economic impact of the public health crisis and shut down.

Grammy-winning artist Carlos Reyes also will perform.
This summer, HairToStay produced a series of Virtual Cabaret fundraisers. Now they are taking the show on the road for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and enlisting the support of hundreds of salons and their clients, across the country, to join in this celebration of life. The cabaret is a curated series of performances including music, magic, comedy and dance, as well as recipient testimonials and information about cold cap therapy, breast cancer treatment breakthroughs and a discussion of the profound importance of keeping one’s hair during chemo treatment. A one-of-a-kind video parody theme song to ‘Cabaret’ encapsulates the entire zeitgeist of the project. Audiences loved the summer series and had this to say:
"What a great job you did with last night's cabaret. The women who spoke about their journeys with cancer were amazing and inspiring. Thank you for making a difference in the world."
“The entertainment was fun. Makes for a nice date night!”
“Thanks for all of the incredible work The love and care put into the entire production was evident”
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, join the professional beauty industry in supporting this creative and entertaining BCAM HairToStay Cabaret. Your generous contribution will have double the impact, supporting low-income cancer patients and performers, and will help salons not only reach out to their beloved clients, but also reach their goal of raising $1,000 to sponsor one patient’s scalp cooling treatments.
Two showtimes available! Tickets start at $25, are tax-deductible, and can be purchased on HairToStay’s fundraising site: bit.ly/bcamcabaret.
