For these looks, Rafe Hardy, artistic director for Sexy Hair, and Nadirah Volpe, Sexy Hair master artist, created braided beauties—strong and architectural, and soft and loosely defined. Each look starts and ends with gorgeous texture achieved with technique, tools and teamwork.

“I love braiding because there are so many styles and options, which you can cocktail together,” Hardy says. “Braiding will always be a great go-to for texture, definition and establishing a focal point. A stylist can take a beautiful classic upstyle and by adding a braid to the base, change the whole feel of the design.”

The Sexy Hair team agrees—a too-perfect style can look dated. And braids are a great option for the client who doesn’t want to do a ton of heat styling, and who likes soft, feminine and not perfectly polished hair.
