MODERN launched our Braids & Brides competition in January to promote special-occasion artistry and name one of YOU as the newest member of our exclusive 2017 Artist Collective (which includes @mustafaaavci, @blohaute, @heidimariegarrettand@annette_updo_artist).

After receiving thousands of entries since the contest’s launch, it was extremely difficult to narrow the pool of beautiful special-occasion styles down to 10. From twists, chignons, waves, buns, curls and texture, it wasn’t easy to judge this first round, but it certainly was beautiful!

This group of 10 semifinalists not only earn major bragging rights, but they also receive incredible prizes, including a gift box packed with goodies (we’re not kidding, it’s PACKED) from some of our favorites—Sebastian Professional, Kenra Professional, Olivia Garden, Grande Cosmetics andColor Wow. These pro beauty brands pulled out all the stops to gift this group with the goodies to help up their special-occasion business and create flawless, voluminous finishes.

But the semifinalists aren’t off the hook just yet—MODERN is challenging them to create their best braided styles. We want to see the most beautiful, glam, edgy, gorgeous braiding creations possible that will be sent off to judging by the best in the biz—MODERN’s 2017 Artist Collective!
