Bridal Trend: Soft and Feminine

Hair cushions play an essential role in the dramatic silhouettes that photograph beautifully. Delicate, loose pieces keep the upstyles from feeling forced. Styled with L’Anza Keratin Healing Oil spray for support and shine.

Bridal upstyles are veering away from sexy and messy, and gravitating more toward feminine and soft.

When L’Anza educator and artist Ammon Carver began to conceptualize a shoot with his assistant AC Studio rising star Tovah Avigail, they set out to create a collection of looks women today could identify with when searching for that perfect, special-occasion hair.

“As we developed the story, Tovah and I found that when it comes to weddings or formal occasions, women look for a more feminine, soft hairstyle versus sexy, messy looks,” Carver says.

By layering two pulled-apart braids across the front hairline, a youthful and not-too-serious vibe is created. Styled with L’Anza Neem Plant Silk Serum for detail when pulling open the braid.

Feminine Looks Fit For a Bride

A one-sided French braid stretches from ear to ear, incorporating all of the front hairline. The braid is pulled open slightly just over the forehead for a crown-type effect that narrows as it reaches each ear. Hair in the back has fullness gently bent with a large marcel iron. Styled with L’Anza Design foam for body and hold before blowdrying.

“For the other style, 90 percent of women want to leave their hair down for a special occasion, but look for something ‘special or different’ in their hair,” Carver says. “Soft, loose waves give body and feminine texture, and backcombed-fullness at the crown is held in place at the back with an easy hair pleat.” Styled with L’Anza Dry Texture Spray for tousled texture and finish.
