A national educator for Kevin Murphy since 2009, Wade Blackford from Chumba Concept Salons in Melbourne loves editorial fashion and beautiful hair. “I’ve spent the last 10 years focused on education and runway. Now I really want to build my photographic portfolio while traveling.” Blackford believes the key to success is education and that you have to constantly evolve and grow to stay on the cutting edge. A young hairdresser and a go-getter, Blackford has worked on the Kevin Murphy team for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week for the last four seasons. He also won the Australian Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year in March and runs a Facebook page called The Mirror Box Project (facebook.com/themirrorboxproject). He has also worked on the show Australia’s Next Top Model and Project Runway Australia.
