Matrix sponsored Mercedes Benz Fashion Week’s “Strut: The Fashionable Mom Show,” hosted by THE MOMs personalities Melissa Gerstein and Denise Alberts and talk show host Wendy Williams. The show teamed up with the top contemporary designers and brands to showcase looks on real moms - ranging from celebrities like Lisa Rinna to NYC tastemakers, entrepreneurs and influencers. Matrix artists were on hand to create over 30 mom-worthy hair styles.
"We’re here to help create individuality and beautiful hair because that’s what Matrix is really all about – beautiful hair and making moms feel great in their own skin,” said Robert Santana, Matrix artistic designer.
Matrix educator Patrice Kreckie gives her step-by-step below to explain how she gave new life to THE MOMs hair.
STEP 1: Cocktail together a smoothing oil and a strong hold mousse and apply to hair.
STEP 2: For fine-haired woman, spray the Total Results Wonder Boost root lifter right into the scalp for volumized hair that is still touchable.
STEP 3: Blow dry hair with a round brush, smoothing the cuticle down.
STEP 4: Spray hair lightly with hairspray before iron to hold cuticle down.
STEP 5: Iron hair in sections starting at the nape of the neck.
STEP 6: Tease the hair at the crown of your head and backcomb gently for added volume.
STEP 7: Finish off the look with hairspray.
