"Girl On Fire" Eufora Formula

At the Eufora Global Connection in October, one of the models appeared onstage with the most brilliant, dimensional red.  Even from rows away, the rich tones stood out. This "girl on fire" was created by Eufora Artist and Educator Blaine Rodenbaugh (@b.thehair) and, after the event, we asked him to share his formula and process, which he so graciously does below.

“My guest's starting level was swatched at a warm level 7, with about 3-4 inches of regrowth and level 6 color from midshaft to ends,” Rodenbaugh says.

Note: All steps included Eufora Color Elixir step 1 in their formulas, and the hair was sealed with step two as the conditioner for 15 minutes.

Step One: Began with a pre-cleanse (a light shampoo using Eufora's Urgent Repair) to detoxify the hair and remove any impurities for a more consistent and even color.

Step Two:  A universal root application. Using EuforaColor at a 1:1 1/2 mixing ratio, blended a hybrid of 20g 3.22 no ammonia and 20g 5.6 low ammonia with a chocolate ship size of Eufora violet intensifier and 60g of 10 volume developer.

Step Three:  Balayaged her ends and some midshaft with Eufora Aloelite and 30 volume at a 1:1 mixing ratio.

Processed for 25 minutes and then shampooed and towel dried.

Step Four: Round two was a colormelt, feathering 25g 7.66 no ammonia and 25g 6.4 no ammonia with 5g red and copper intensifier and 82g of 15vol from the root application to midshaft/balayage point, where I melded the color into a blend of 30g. 9.3 low ammonia, 20g 8.4 no ammonia, and 4g of yellow intensifier with 81g of 7 volume.

Processed for 25 minutes before being shampooed.

Finishing:

Step 1: The hair was set with Eufora Elixir One, Eufora Color Locking system (Sculpture and Illuminate) and then blown out.

Step 2: I waved her and disheveled her root with Full Effect texturing spray and ran Pure Polish through for a shine to her finish.

Final Words of Advice: “Mixing our low and no ammonia colors to create a hybrid ensures maximum penetration and longevity of our color's vibrancy, while the use of Color Elixir protects the hair from damaging free radicals and helps to keep the hair's cuticle in tact for beautiful light reflection and shine in our color.”
