Melissa Eppers (@roguehairstudio) is a creative color specialist in Marietta, GA.  Because Georgia was one of the first states to reopen some businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, Eppers knew that many beauty professionals would be looking to stylists in the state for answers on the new working conditions.

Eppers created a New Salon & Stylist COVID-19 Protocol Video which she shared on Instagram.

“I purchased scrub jackets from Amazon to wear over my clothes, and to wear a face cover," she explains.  'I am choosing to designate a pair of work shoes that are only worn at Rogue to help with not tracking anything more. I am also choosing to wear my hair back or in buns to help with unnecessarily touching my face, etc.

  • Most of the sanitation in this video is already required in Georgia so if you are following protocol it should be easy to jump.

  • The sanitation in between has become faster but you still need at least 15 minutes.

  • The pre-appointments things take up extra time, up to 20 minutes.

  • I’m doing limited services, no blow dry, to help accommodate for time and I’m also working an extra day every week.

  • If it was not clear in the video, Barbicide Disinfectant was also used, and UV sterilizer.  The UV isn’t required but a great addition.
