“Anyone that wants their face to frame the curves of their features and have a fringe that grows out less of a blunt lined shape would be right for this."

“I specialize in working with individual’s natural texture and bringing out the vibe/mood of the person,” I break down these moods of reference as romantic, quirk, queer and punk.”-Andy Judd (@andy_doesyourhair

In some pretty trying times, we appreciate the whimsy of these cuts by Andy Judd (@andy_doesyourhair), a stylist at Local Honey Salon in Nashville, TN.  This flattering fringe that Judd calls “Moon Bangs” mimics the shape of a crescent moon (they are often called “Crescent Bangs”) and we loved these examples, especially.

“ I've seen a lot of people in the past talk about Crescent Bangs and using that wording as a reference for when the fringe lives longer on the face, moving into what I would consider more of a curtain bang with detailed center pieces, which I also love,” Judd explains. “Moon Bangs to me, however, are curved baby/micro bangs following the shape of a crescent moon. They live completely on the forehead and hug the cheekbones. They have texture and bulk removed for an easy grow-out.”

Who is the right client to wear a Moon Bang? “I would cut moon bangs on anyone that wants a true short micro fringe,” he continues. “Anyone that wants their face to frame the curves of their features and have a fringe that grows out less of a blunt lined shape would be right for this."

“The clientele in my area are a lot of musicians and artists all searching for a look that will be easy to style and make an individualized statement to play up their sound, fashion and art.”
