Nicholas French always draws a crowd at any show, and it has as much to do with his award winning looks as it does with the technique.

Modern caught up with him recently to find out HOW he manages to get volume, a perfect roll and a textured braid for what he calls his "Game of Thrones" finish. By using SheUSA by So.Cap clip ins and a special roll as a foundation, French is able to build up shapes and create unique designs.

"I thought I'd do a modern version of it today," he says. "For this look I placed cotton wool inside tights to use as the base of the roll."

French points out that for model Kenzie he did not need to use extensions, but for most models he needs to add several clip ins to add volume, length or color.

For a "Game Of Thrones" look, French finished with a side swept braid which he then squeezed the ends up for a softer, looser effect. Are braids still around? "Yes," says French. "You construct them first and then de-construct. It makes it modern."

In this 2 minute video French breaks down the look and shows HOW TO create the finish.
