At New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017, Lead Hairstylist, T. Cooper of Metro Look and her team  created "Disco Divas" for the PH5 presentation, working with Sedu tools and Not Your Mother’s (NYM) products to create sexy 1970s disco-inspired flips and afros. 

 PH5 is a contemporary womenswear label founded by Wei Lin. Designed by Mijia Zhang, PH5 redefines knitwear by adding colorful and playful techniques. 

“I saw the pieces, and instantly thought 'Saturday Night Fever!' I wanted the models to look like the baddest chicks at Studio 54,” said Cooper. “The Sedu tools and NYM products were perfect for executing the hair for this presentation. The girls looked like millennial Farrah Fawcetts and Foxy Browns.”

 PRODUCTS: The looks were created using Not Your Mother’s products: Beat the Heat Protectant, Whip It Up Mousse, She’s a Tease Hairspray, and Plump for Joy Dry Shampoo.

STEP 1: The stylists started the look by spraying Beat the Heat to protect the models from heat damage.

STEP 2: The models’ hair was then saturated with Whip it Up mousse, and blown upward with a Sedu dryer to create root lift and volume.

STEP 3: Next the hair was sprayed with She’s a Tease hairspray and curled with a Sedu Icon curling iron (the larger attachment was used to form for flips and smaller attachment was used to create afro texture).

STEP 4: Finally, the stylists used Plump for Joy dry shampoo at the roots and worked it through with their fingers for added body.
