Lizz Holt (@iheartlizz)is an independent stylist based in Austin, Texas. She has been in the industry for seven years...and the industry is lucky to have her. We spied her tremendous hair save on Instagram and followed up with Lizz for the backstory. 

"I got a distressed text one evening from an out of town client," Holt explained. "Her hair had been chemically burnt off above the shoulders. I received a photo of her hair prior to her making the trip, and it was much worse than I imagined. I had one day to strategize this fix."

THE HAIR SAVE

 "The first thing I did was cut off the hair that was completely mush. After, I shaded her roots with Goldwell Colorance 6BP and ran 10P Colorance through her midshaft and ends. After the toner was rinsed she sat with Brazilian B3 Demi Conditioner for thirty minutes. After rinsing I did a Brazilian Blowout Split end treatment on her."

 GLAM EXTENSIONS

"Luckily, my client had a variety of Glam Seamless tape in hair extensions from past extension services I had done for her. I was able to piece those together and fill in the back area, so that she was not stuck with a graduated bob. Blending the tapes in was challenging because in the back she lost all of her length at the nape and was left with 2-3 inches at the crown. i also did some through the sides to create fullness and give her a couple more inches there."

UPDATE:

"Six weeks have passed since the incident, and I just saw her for a for an extension move up yesterday! She is doing a lot better, in case y'all were wondering. This time around we were able to order a few packs of new hair from Glam Seamless. I installed Ombre 12/60 Invisi-Tape - 20"  around the top and Light Ash Brown (9) - 14" at the nape. After install, I blended them for her by cutting and texturizing the extensions."
