Prevention Disinfectants are a new line of EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectants from Virox formulated for nail technicians and other beauty professionals. They offer a disinfection solution with the ability to kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi powered by Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP), with a one-minute claim against fungus (the leading cause of nail infections).
“We recognized that fungus, as a germ of concern in nail salons, was not being adequately addressed by existing disinfectants for this industry,” said Dan Woolford, Virox senior director of sales and marketing. “The Prevention formula is hospital-grade and kills germs faster than any disinfectant on the market, including our previous AHP powered products.”
Other common disinfectants can take as long as 10 minutes to kill germs. “That’s not only unrealistic and impractical, but potentially dangerous as it makes it more challenging to eliminate the risk of infection,” Woolford adds. “We designed Prevention with a modern look to complement the counter, workspace, and reception area in any nail salon so users will have wipes or sprays close at hand whenever they need them. We want the industry to feel an everyday confidence that their salons are safely and properly disinfected.”
In addition to ready-to-use disinfectant sprays and wipes, Prevention will be available in a refillable wipes format that uses 90% less plastic, making this a perfect product format to help nail technicians achieve their sustainability goals and realize some cost savings along the way. Like all Virox disinfectants, Prevention is gentle on users, surfaces, and the planet — the active ingredient, hydrogen peroxide, breaks down into oxygen and water leaving no harmful impact on the environment.
Slated for launch on July 11, 2022, Prevention Disinfectants will be distributed by Universal Companies, a supplier to about 35,000 clients in the salon and spa industry.
