Hello sunshine! Sonya Deligans of the Sport Clips in Lake Charles, LA was wined and dined by American Crew in Miami after winning a sales contest in her division.
They shared, they bonded, they celebrated, they got the royal treatment. They hit the beach, the Art District and they even cooked together! The winners of the Sport Clips American Crew contest headed to Miami recently and experienced a weekend they’ll never forget.
CELEBRITY TREATMENT
The pampering started at the airport. “They picked us up in a white Mercedes stretch limo!” says Lee Ann Rager of Louisville, KY, who has been with Sport Clips since May 2017. “They took us to a cute hotel, treated us to a meet-and-greet reception and gave us all gifts. American Crew arranged everything—we didn’t have to worry about a single thing!”
The next day, the special treatment continued when the winners were whisked off to a photo shoot in Miami’s colorful Wynwood Art district. There, a makeup artist was on hand to ramp up the glam, and the winners and their salon manager guests struck pose after pose on set. “The photographer sent us our photos and gave us each 3 printed copies to take home,” says Sonya Deligans of Lake Charles, LA. “Now we all have professional photographs, which is so important for the profession we’re in!”

LOVE AND PASTA
The rest of the trip involved walks on the beach, of course, as well as a Duck Boat tour that highlighted Miami’s grand celebrity homes and famous movie locations. Then it was time to get cooking! The winners gathered with a chef at The Real Food Academy in Miami to learn about healthy eating, and then prepared homemade meatballs and Ravioli’s. While they enjoyed the fruits of their labor their American Crew hosts led them in a heartfelt session to share their personal and professional goals. “It was really powerful to hear about other people’s journeys and how we all got where we are,” says Sonya, who has been a member of the Sport Clips team for nine months. Both Sonya and Lee Ann agree the takeaways from the evening were inspirational and led to lots of new connections. “The best part of the whole trip,” says Lee Ann, “was meeting other women who are as committed as I am to providing an excellent experience for clients.”

Travel opportunities abound at Sport Clips—there are always contests that reward winners with trips. So far Sonya has traveled to Colorado, Cancun and Miami thanks to Sexy Hair, Paul Mitchell and American Crew, and in April, she’s packing her bags for San Jose! “Sport Clips takes care of us, they have great benefits and if you work hard, you can go far in the company,” she says.
Trips are just part of what makes the Sport Clips experience so unique. “I work with men,” says Lee Ann. “My paycheck is guaranteed each week, and men are also great tippers. I love sales and education and there are so many opportunities to grow within the stores and within the corporation. My goal is to grow beyond the chair, and I know it can happen at Sport Clips.”
