According to Frankie Denise Meyerson of Bumble and bumble, don’t take your younger clientele for granted. Their sense of style and fashion offers a bit more opportunity to the professional stylist to be more experimental.

“Texture is key when creating a playful, always age-appropriate finish for the younger client,” says Meyerson, a cut and style specialist at the Bumble and bumble uptown salon in New York City. “This gives the artist an opportunity to play with shape and color.”

Meyerson takes her time with the creative end of these silhouettes. “These clients are not always looking for something permanent,” she says. “Extensions can save the day and are a great way to introduce these young clients to products and different services offered in the salon.”

Prep is particularly important for these looks, according to Meyerson. “Even though these finishes look less ‘done,’ you still want the look to last for several hours. Using the right products and applying the extensions appropriately will allow the shape live through a night of dancing, laughing and fun.”

“You can’t go wrong with thinking ‘fun’ when working with the younger client for any finish.” —Frankie Denise Meyerson
