The Story Behind Emma Watson's New 'Do

Getting the story on Emma Watson's new style wasn't as easy as I thought. Rodney Cutler, the man who created the style, was sworn to secrecy. Here's an excerpt of our conversation about the star's new short cut:
The Story Behind Emma Watson's New 'Do

"The phone has been ringing off the hook," said Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon referring to the news that just broke that he was responsible for the exciting transformation of Emma Watson from a classic longhaired movie star look to the new Twiggy/Mia Farrow cropped silhouette. "I'm not answering any calls but I'll talk to you because I just had so much fun at our February cover shoot!"

OK, Rodney. So talk.

"I can't talk," he said.
Rodney, you tease! Who said you can't talk?

"I'm not allowed," he said. "But I can't talk about that either. Let's just say I am respecting my client/stylist relationship."

Which client? Emma? A producer? An agency?

"Not talking," he continued. "But, I promise I will tell you when I get the go-ahead."

So, in the meantime, we will just have to go with what Emma has shared herself:

"Dear all," she writes on her Facebook page, "Cut my hair off a few days ago... Feels incredible. I love it. I've wanted to do this for years and years; it's the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like. Big love from Emma x."

Emma told EW.com, "The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it. I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through. I've wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, 'Right. This is it.'"

And that IS something Rodney was able to discuss: "It looks great, doesn't it!"
