THE DETAILS: Thousands of industry manufacturers, distributors and
salon professionals walked Cosmoprof North America's show floor, checked
out new product launches and brands, attended business-building seminars,
and got inspiration and education.
SYMPOSIUM: In addition to the General Session, breakout tracks offered
intimate learning environments designed around leadership, growing transactions
and social networking. Susan Scott, author of Fierce Conversations
and Fierce Leadership was the keynote speaker, and presenters included
Bart Foreman on "Bye-Bye Boomers, Hello Gen Y;" "Are You in the Zone"
with Lisa Louison, and Tabatha Coffey offered insight on how to grow, manage
and succeed in life and in business.
NAHA: The North American Hairstyling Awards-the photo competition cofounded
by MODERN SALON-celebrated the artistry and skill of the professional

BEACON: Beacon allowed students to network and interact directly with industry
leaders and learn how to jump-start their career, market their services

BEST PRACTICE CLUB: The BPC forum allowed high-grossing salon owners
to meet and discuss consumer trends, employment issues and the best
overall practices that help a business thrive.
CITY OF HOPE: The industry gathered in support of the City of Hope Hospital
and Research Center and its mission to fight cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS
and other life-threatening diseases. Eva Graham, founder of Nioxin, was honored
with the Spirit of Life Award. Announced at the event was next year's
recipient, Sara Jones, Joico's Senior Vice President and General Manager.
