Milady, a part of Cengage Group and the industry leader in beauty education, has announced the 14th edition of its flagship product: Milady Standard Cosmetology. Completely redesigned and reimagined, this edition offers a whole new look and layout as well as content that was market vetted throughout the entire development process.
Given how visual the beauty industry is, even more so now thanks to social media, expanding this edition's visual components was a key objective, which is why 26 new and updated procedure videos were shot and produced.
"Today’s students have higher expectations of their learning materials than ever before," said Corina Santoro, Milady VP of product and customer experience. "They want to see themselves reflected in the photography and videos. They want to learn the skills they need to pursue their unique path. Whatever their goals, our learning materials must support them. Our 14th edition of Milady Standard Cosmetology does just that. It provides the solid foundation for every path a hairdresser could ever take."
The visual enhancements don't end with video. Updated photos appear throughout the content, celebrating the diversity of both Milady students and their future clientele. This delivers on Milady's ongoing commitment to provide a curriculum that is inclusive and diverse in all ways: hair types and textures, skin types and gender.

The Milady team notes that it’s important to meet students where they are in life, which can also mean recognizing that today's students are entering beauty school with more skills than ever before, thanks to online tutorials on places like YouTube.
