MODERN SALON at ABS: The entire editorial team of MODERN SALON Media will be reporting live on all the education, inspiration and collaboration. We’ll be capturing video, sharing photos and posting non-stop about featured artists, style trends, product news and more on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and on the ABS events page on modernsalon.com!
If you are coming to the show, say hello at MODERN’s Booth 299 and visit our Texture Pavilion at stage #233. The MODERN team will also be at the special BeautyBASH Saturday night, and helping host the Beauty Changes Lives and Wella Student Competition Events. Read on for more ABS details.

BeautyBASH2013:
Last year’s inaugural event brought together 700 industry leaders, salon owners, professionals and students for an evening celebrating CC's history. BeautyBASH 2013 will celebrate the amazing talent of beauty professionals—from hair and nail fashion to performance art.
Winners of Cosmetologists Chicago STARS photo contest for professionals and students, along with the Leo Passage Gold Trophy Award, will be recognized. A new surprise element to the evening will feature multi-talented salon professionals. All proceeds from BeautyBASH benefit the CC Presidents Scholarship Fund that annually awards cash scholarships for advanced education. (Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.)

Texture Pavilion: There’s a lot of buzz about texture in fashion and hair trends, and also about the TEXTURE! Pavilion at ABS. Celebrating the fourth year of partnership between MODERN SALON and Texture Media/NaturallyCurly.com, TEXTURE LIVE! is the biggest curly-haired event on the show floor. Come experience the “up close and personal” demos of specialized texture education. (Saturday: 1-5 p.m.; Sunday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Monday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Student Focus: The next generation of salon professionals will experience an inspirational journey at ABS during the American Association of Cosmetology Schools’ “Beauty Changes Lives" sessions. Students will join celebrity stylists and beauty icons as they take them on a journey in an interactive and inspirational program of how beauty has changed their lives, and how it can be a fulfilling and premiere career choice. (Monday, March 11, 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Admission is free.)
