Technology provider BeautyAList announced a partnership with OpenID Connect to bring a technology used by Google and Facebook into the beauty industry's domain. Allowing customers to sign-in with BeautyAList credentials via OpenID Connect reduces lost sales and improves customer experience for beauty brands, resellers, and tradeshows in the professional market.
"This technology is an advancement in digital verification for the beauty industry. By linking their verified identities to their digital ID, we enable professionals to expand their clientele and access exclusive industry benefits. By streamlining the login and checkout processes for brands and resellers we deliver a faster, more secure, and easier user experience.”
— Dasha Minina, President of BeautyAList and Licensify
BeautyAList’s OpenID Connect addresses the largest problem in e-commerce: a nearly 70% cart abandonment rate -— 86% on mobile devices — which costs sites millions of dollars of lost sales. Statistics show that streamlining the checkout process can increase conversions by as much as 35%. Since OpenID provides information directly to the platform, much of the onboarding process is eliminated, speeding checkout, and increasing sales.
Speeding and improving the customer experience is especially critical today as buyers move to mobile at a 10.15% CAGR.
BeautyAList’s OpenID handles user authentication and authorization via tokens, delivering a high level of security since users do not have to share credentials such as passwords. This approach reduces the chances of a security breach which can cost a company not only compensation payments, but also a damaged reputation.
OpenID also facilitates single sign-on across platforms, removing the hassle of users having to login again and again as they find and purchase products.
Tailored for the professional beauty industry, BeautyAList’s OpenID is supported by BeautyAList and its Licensify license verification engine. BeautyAList maintains a database of licensed practitioners, beauty salons, spas, nail salons, barbershops, and other providers along with their credentials, enabling instant user authentication.
